COSMETIC TATTOO

Permanent Makeup

A cosmetic tattoo enhances features of the face morning, noon and night. Eyebrows, eyeliner and lip pigment are permanently applied. Results imitate applied cosmetics, either dramatic or natural, depending upon the style requested by the client. Topical anaesthetics are used to minimise any discomfort.

Art has always been at the heart of who I am, no matter the medium. My background as an artist gives me a trained eye for balance, precision, and detail

ABOUT ME

Thank you for taking the time to explore my work. I’d love to share a little about my background and passion for cosmetic tattooing.

I began my journey in the beauty industry in 2009, completing my International Make-Up Artist (IMA) qualification in London, followed shortly by my training in Cosmetic Tattooing. Since then, I’ve had the privilege of working with thousands of clients across the UK and Australia.

My first salon was in London, and after emigrating to Australia, I went on to open four salons in Perth and Melbourne, I completed my Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and launched my own Cosmetic Tattoo Training School. I’ve since trained students all over Australia.

Art and science have always been at the heart of what I do. After leaving school in 1997, I studied at art college, and in 2004, I completed my science degree. This unique blend of creativity and scientific knowledge shapes the way I approach cosmetic tattooing. In particular, I’m passionate about the chemistry of tattoo pigments — an area often overlooked. Understanding how pigments heal and change under the skin is vital to achieving natural, lasting results.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does cosmetic tattooing last?

Results typically last between 1–3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, pigment colour, and aftercare. Touch-up sessions help maintain the shape and colour over time. Eyeliner and very dark pigment can last many years and will fade over time.

Is cosmetic tattooing painful?

Most clients describe the sensation as mild discomfort rather than pain. A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to ensure comfort.

What is the healing process like?

Initially, the tattooed area will appear darker and more defined. Over the first 7–10 days, some scabbing or flaking may occur. The colour will soften and lighten during healing. Full healing can take 4–6 weeks.

Do I need a touch-up session?

Yes. A touch-up is recommended 6–8 weeks after your first session. This allows for adjustments in shape and colour once the skin has healed.

Can anyone have cosmetic tattooing?

Most people can, but there are some restrictions. It’s not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, people on certain medications (like Roaccutane), or those with specific medical conditions (e.g., uncontrolled diabetes, bleeding disorders). A consultation is always required beforehand.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, blood-thinning medication, and tanning 24 hours before your appointment. Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying makeup to the treatment area.

Can I wear make-up after cosmetic tattooing?

You should avoid applying makeup directly on the treated area until it has healed (about 7–10 days) to prevent infection. Makeup on untreated areas is fine.

AFTERCARE

After your initial session, you’ll be provided with detailed aftercare instructions along with a healing ointment to support recovery. Please keep in mind that light scabbing or flaking is a normal part of the healing process and usually lasts about a week, so it’s best to plan your booking around any important events.
