About your trainer, Sheila Tompsett
Sheila is the founder of Stay Perfect, a leading aesthetic clinic and training school in Joondalup, Perth. The business 'Stay Perfect' did not start out in the beauty industry as we know it, but rather a business specialising in cosmetic illusions. Sheila graduated from London South Bank University in 2004 achieving a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Special Effects with Physics & Prosthesis. After graduating, she worked in the movie industry briefly before starting her business in Ocular Prosthesis (artificial eye) and Limb Prosthesis; skills acquired both from university and working with some of the worlds best sculptors at 'Madame Tussauds' celebrity waxworks museum in the heart on London. She was awarded the certificate of excellence in fine art.
Sheila attended the prestigious London School of Makeup, the most famous Make-Up school in Europe and the most comprehensive makeup course in the world. After learning from celebrity and catwalk makeup artists in Milan, New York and Vegas, Sheila achieved the IMA (international Makeup Artist) certification, recognisable throughout the world. She then applied this knowledge into the art of cosmetic tattoo to build her portfolio in cosmetic illusions. Nowadays, Sheila performs Permanent Make-Up tattooing regularly due to high demand. She has a portfolio of over 4,000 clients in permanent make-up alone and has worked alongside Cosmetic Surgeons with burns victims, cancer survivor's and for the correction of birth defects. Sheila now runs training programs for those wishing to pursue a career in cosmetic and/or paramedical tattoo.
The flexibility of cosmetic tattoo allowed Sheila to continue working whilst growing a family.
"I can't think of another career that could provide the flexibility and financial stability that cosmetic tattoo provides. Family and work/life balance is important. Australia is a fantastic place to grow a business, whilst providing a better quality of life for my family. To be able to move across continents and use my skills whilst working for myself is a real eye opener to how flexible this career really is."
After emigrating to Australia 3 years ago, Sheila has been busy building her business in the beauty industry and Cosmetic Tattoo training, achieving the Australian Cert IV in Training and Assessment within a few months of landing.
I feel honoured that people fly in to train with me. We've had students from all over Australia and even international students from Japan and India. In the last year alone, 50 students from Western Australia have trained with us and now have rewarding careers.
